PRE-KINDERGARTEN
May 31 through June 4, 2010
RELIGION:
We will continue to read stories from our children’s Bible and enjoy
flannel board stories. This week the
children will hear the story of “The Good Shepherd” from the Gospel of John.
LANGUAGE ARTS: We will complete pages 69 and 70 in our
phonics workbooks. We will review the letter S.
We will also be working on rhyming words. We will continue to recite our nursery rhymes
and finger plays.
MATH:
The children will learn to order the numbers 1 through 10 and learn how
to count backward from 10. The children
will complete two pages in their math workbooks. We will continue with writing our numbers.
HANDWRITING: The children will continue to practice
writing in their handwriting books.
SCIENCE:
The children will be learning swimming safety.
GYM:
The children will have gym class on Tuesday and Friday. Please be sure they wear tennis shoes.
ART:
The children will have art class on Thursday with Ms. Dana. In our classroom, we will be doing water
color painting, and easel painting.
On Tuesday, June 1, we will be having a
Peace Tree Day.
We will be going on our trip to the
National Zoo on Friday, June 4. A letter
was sent home regarding the trip.
On Wednesday, June 2, we will be having
a McDonald’s lunch in celebration of the end of the school year. The last day of class for the Pre-K children
will be on Wednesday, June 9. Dismissal
will be at 12:30 on that day.
Monday, May 31 – No school – Memorial
Day Holiday
Monday, June 7 – 12:30 dismissal
Tuesday, June 8 – 12:30 dismissal
Wednesday, June 9 – 12:30 dismissal and
last day of Pre-K.
PLEASE BE SURE TO RETURN YOUR CHILD’S
FOLDER ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE SCHOOL WEEK.
Milk is sold on Monday. The cost for 20 milks is $3.75. Your child may have either chocolate or white
milk.
Please try to arrive to school on
time. When you are late, it causes a
disruption in the classroom and your child misses learning time.
