SAINT JEROME ACADEMY PRE-KINDERGARTEN

WEEK OF MAY14, 2012 THROUGH MAY 18, 2012

RELIGION: This week the children will listen to the following stories: Jesus brings Lazarus back to life, David and Goliath, and Samson and Delilah. The children will continue to learn the prayer “A child’s morning prayer”. The children will not have Scripture class with Mrs. Tarver Smith on Wednesday because we will be on our field trip.

LANGUAGE ARTS: We will review the letters of the alphabet. We will also be learning about rhyming and beginning and ending letter sounds. The children will complete pages 79 and 80 in their phonics books. We will also read numerous books and practice our finger plays and rhymes.

MUSIC: We will be singing and dancing with music from Ella Jenkins, Greg and Steve, Raffi, and Hap Palmer.

MATH: This week the children will learn identify and count pennies. The children will complete two pages in their math workbooks.

SCIENCE: The children will continue to watch our tadpoles and caterpillars grow. We are hoping this will be the week the caterpillars change into butterflies.

HANDWRITING: This week we will continue to use our handwriting books.

GYM: We will have gym class on Monday, and Thursday. Please be sure your child wears tennis shoes on those days.

LIBRARY: The children will have library class with Miss Ritz on Tuesday.

ART: In our classroom, we will be painting.

We will be going to Imagination Stage on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. We will arrive back to school in time for lunch.

The St. Julie Fair Day will be on Friday, May 18. Information will be sent home soon.

THERE WILL BE A 1:00 DISMISSAL ON FRIDAY, MAY 25, 2012 AND THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, MAY 28.

THE LAST DAY FOR THE PRE-KINDERGARTEN CLASS WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6, 2012.

All hot lunch forms will no longer be sent home. The form will be on the school website. You must print out the form and return to school to order hot lunch.

PLEASE BE SURE TO UPDATE YOUR CHILD’S CHANGE OF CLOTHES.

Milk tickets are sold on Mondays. The cost for 20 milks is $3.00.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RETURN THE FRIDAY FOLDER AND THE CANVAS BACKPACK ON MONDAY MORNING.

PLEASE RETURN YOUR CHILD’S BEACH TOWEL FOR NAP.
