1B UPDATES
Dear Parents,
I have
provided this page in case there are important updates or changes that were not
indicated on the most recent “1B Homework Sheet”, or in a “reminder” notice of
some sort. Please remember that the 1B
Notes section at the top of the weekly homework sheet is always your
best source of information. I will
probably not find it necessary to use this “Updates” page on a regular basis,
but I nevertheless thought it might prove helpful from time to time.
- In
the event of an unscheduled school closing please use the following guide
for homework assignments:
If school is closed on
Monday, but reopens on Tuesday, children should still do Monday’s
assignments, not those listed for Tuesday on the Homework Sheet. Likewise, if school were to be closed on
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, reopening on Thursday - - - the children should
still do the assignments listed for Monday, instead of those listed for Thursday.
In other words, even though school days may be
“skipped” due to inclement weather, etc., the homework (as well as the
classwork upon which the homework is based) is never “skipped”, but always
“picks up” from where it left off before the unexpected school closing.
- When
paying for “hot lunches”, field trips, milk tickets, etc., please pay for
these items individually, enclosing each payment (and any applicable order
form) in a separate envelope marked with your child’s name and grade. If you have more than one child
attending St. Jerome’s, please pay for each child separately as well, as
this helps to avoid confusion.
- If
your child brings a “Lunchables” meal to school, please remember that
these types of meals do not include a daily snack. Please provide your child with a piece
of fruit, some carrot sticks, crackers, string cheese, etc. whenever
he/she brings a “Lunchables” meal for lunch.
- Please
remember to check your child’s folder daily for important school
messages. Please remember to read
the weekly “Homework Sheet” in its entirety at the beginning
of each week, as it contains much needed (and often helpful) information.
- Please
remind your child to be in constant prayer for an end to terrorism
and for true peace among all people, particularly among Palestinians and
Israelis, as well as for an end to slavery in the Sudan, and the relief of
those who suffer poverty and injustice.
These are not just political issues, for at their heart, they are
spiritual issues that are of importance and concern to all who
share this planet.
