Language Arts: 11/19/08 -Book Assignment 6th grade
will be reading the novel “Because of Winn Dixie” by Kate DiCamillo.
Each student should bring their novel to school on Tuesday. November 25, 2008. Please review the Language Arts letter with
your child at home for other details.

Workshop/Mini-lesson writing your own original
Story. Group collaboration efforts will

plot, setting, main/minor characters, a story problem and solution using the

Finding Out About Family Traditions. Each student should ask their parents or
relatives about traditions they celebrate and write down learned information for

Lesson 2: “Looking for Chemicals” Assignment Sheet given today. Due Date:
Monday, November 24th. Working with a parent or an adult, students
will compile a list of chemicals found at home. Students should arrange their
work using a table or list that shows the common name for each chemical, the
science name for their chemical and then shows its chemical formula. Example: Chemical formula: NaCl, Chemical name: Sodium Chloride, Common name: Salt.

Science Assignment Sheet given project “Naming the Elements”. Please review and

Students should select their Element and state there choice NLT (no

Math Folders needed 3 (three)-pronged folder should include the Saxon Student
